At Wigston Car Breakers, we promise to dispose of your End of Life Vehicle (ELV) in an environmentally friendly way. All vehicles brought to our site are depolluted to ensure the ELV is classified as non-hazardous waste. The ELV is then recycled back into the industry.

Please bring photo ID with your end of life vehicle when delivering to our site to ensure your vehicle is processed correctly. We work along with the DVLA and notify them that your ELV is depolluted and recycled. Every vehicle that comes to our site is issued with a Certificate of Destruction, this is a DVLA requirement. If any further information is required, please call our friendly and helpful staff that will be happy to help.

End of life vehicles

On 1st February 2003, the End-of-Life Vehicles Regulation came into force. The End of Life Vehicles Directive aims to reduce the amount of waste produced from vehicles when they are scrapped. All vehicles that have come to their end of life will have to go to an Authorised Treatment Facility. ATFs are permitted to accept waste motor vehicles and comply with End Of Life Vehicle and Environmental regulations

Please note

To comply with the new Scrap Metal Dealers Act 2013, we can no longer pay cash for ELVs / Scrap Vehicles. We will only be paying by cheque or BACS payment. Please be assured we will still be giving the best price on your End of Life Vehicles!

We will also need ID for every ELV transaction the following ID is required:-

Photo Identification and Proof of address (utility bill) upon collection or delivery.
